Find your way around the desk

The menu bar, the dock, windows, widgets, search and the keyboard shortcuts.

Involets is laid out like a computer's desktop. Everything opens in a window, and windows stay where you leave them.

The dock

The dock along the bottom holds the six core apps: Overview, Timesheet, Projects, Clients, Invoices and Reports. Apps you install from the App Store join them. Drag a tile to move it, and right-click a tile to close its window. Trash sits at the end.

Windows

  • Drag a window by its title bar, and drag any edge to resize it.
  • Double-click the title bar to put a window back to its usual size.
  • Projects, clients and invoices each open in a window of their own, so you can keep two side by side. Middle-click a project to open it in a new window.

Search

Press ⌘ K on a Mac, or Ctrl K elsewhere, to search projects, clients, invoices and apps from anywhere on the desk.

Widgets and the desk

Widgets sit on the desk itself: the running timer, today's total and what is unbilled, plus any that come with apps you install. Drag a project folder onto the desk to keep it there, and right-click the desk for its own menu. Change the wallpaper in Settings → Wallpaper; the desk takes its accent colour from the one you choose.

Keyboard shortcuts

Press ? anywhere on the desk (except while typing) to see every shortcut, and Esc to close it.
