How invoicing works in Involets
- Add a client and a project. Give the project an hourly rate, a fixed price or a recurring amount.
- Track the work. Run the timer from the desk, the Chrome toolbar or your Mac’s menu bar, or type the hours in afterwards.
- Make the invoice. Tick the hours to bill, or bill part of a fixed price. Each becomes a line with your rate, and your tax is added with one switch.
- Download and send it. Download a PDF with your logo and your payment details, send it from your own email, and mark it sent.
- Mark it paid. When the money arrives, mark it paid. An unpaid invoice past its due date is flagged as overdue.
Every invoice has a number from your own prefix that is never reused, an issue date and a due date. A wrong invoice can be rolled back, which makes its hours unbilled again so you can make a corrected one. See Create an invoice for every step.

Made for people who bill their time
Most invoicing software starts from accounting and adds a timer later. Involets starts from the hours: a timer, a timesheet by day, week and month, and projects that know what is billed, unbilled and left. The invoice is the last step of work you already recorded, so nothing is retyped and no hour is forgotten.
Reports then put what you billed beside the hours you worked, so you see your effective hourly rate, not only your quoted one.

About Involets as an invoicing app
Is Involets really free?
Yes, for one person. Personal includes every feature, with no limit on clients, projects or invoices, and you never enter a card. The Company plan, for shared spaces of up to 30 people, is $6 a month or $60 a year.
Can I send invoices from Involets?
You download the PDF and send it from your own email, then mark it sent. Involets does not email invoices for you, so every invoice comes from your own address.
How do clients pay?
Directly to you, by whatever you print on the invoice: bank details, PayPal, Wise, or a Stripe or Payoneer link. Involets never handles the money and takes no fee. See Tell clients how to pay you.
Can I invoice in euros, pounds or any other currency?
Yes. Each invoice has its own currency, from every ISO 4217 code, and your tax can be called VAT, GST or sales tax.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in your phone’s browser: you can add time, make invoices and mark them paid. There is no app in the phone app stores yet.
Is it good for a small business with a few people?
Yes. The Company plan gives up to 30 people one shared space for clients, projects, time and invoices, with the company’s own details and branding on every invoice, for $6 a month in all, not per person.
