Where Harvest is ahead

Sending and getting paid

Harvest emails an invoice to your client and can take the payment by card through Stripe. Involets makes the PDF; you send it from your own email and mark it paid when the money arrives.

Phones and Windows

Harvest has apps for iPhone, Android and Windows. Involets runs in the browser, in Chrome’s toolbar and in the Mac menu bar, and has no phone app yet.

Integrations and expenses

Harvest connects to Asana, Slack, QuickBooks, Xero and others, and puts expenses on invoices. Involets has no integrations and keeps expenses in a separate app that does not bill them.

Where Involets is different

One price, not one per person

A team of ten pays Harvest $90 a month. It pays Involets $6. Adding a freelancer for a busy month costs nothing, and the people you invite join free.

A free plan you can run a business on

Harvest’s free plan stops at two projects. Personal in Involets has no limit on projects, clients or invoices, and no feature is held back for the paid plan.

Your real hourly rate, on every plan

Reports put what you billed beside the hours you worked, so fixed-price work and unbilled time show what they really paid. Harvest keeps profitability reporting for its Enterprise plan.

Which to choose

Choose Harvest if you need invoices emailed and paid by card from inside the app, a phone or Windows app, or an integration with your accounting software. Choose Involets if you want the tracking and invoicing without a per-person bill, or a free plan without a project limit.

Questions

Involets and Harvest: what people ask

Is Involets a good alternative to Harvest?

For freelancers and small teams who track time and invoice from it, yes: the timer, timesheet, hourly and fixed-price projects, branded PDF invoices and reports are all there. It costs nothing for one person and $6 a month for up to 30. If you rely on Harvest emailing invoices, taking card payments or its integrations, Involets does not do those yet.

How much would my team save?

Harvest’s Teams plan is $9 a person a month, so five people pay $45 and twenty pay $180. Involets is $6 a month for the whole team at either size, or $60 a year.

Can I move my data from Harvest to Involets?

There is no importer for Harvest’s time entries. Most people start Involets with their current clients and projects, and keep Harvest’s CSV export as the record of past work. Your Involets data exports as CSV whenever you want it.

Does Involets send invoices and take payments like Harvest?

No. You download the PDF and send it yourself, and your invoice tells the client how to pay you: bank details, PayPal, Wise, or a Stripe or Payoneer link. The money goes straight to you. See Send an invoice and mark it paid.

Does Involets have a free plan like Harvest?

Yes, and with no project limit. Personal includes every feature, unlimited projects, clients and invoices, the Chrome extension and all thirty App Store apps, with no card.
