Involets for Mac

A time tracker in your Mac’s menu bar

The running time beside your clock, and today’s entries one click away. It is the same timer as the one on your desk and in Chrome, with the same projects and the same figures.

Free. macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon and Intel. You will need an Involets account.

Installing it takes about a minute

  1. 1

    Download Involets

One disk image for every Mac, Apple silicon or Intel.

  2. 2

    Drag it into Applications

Open Involets.dmg and drag Involets onto the Applications folder beside it.

  3. 3

    Open it and connect

Open Involets from Applications. Its mark appears in the menu bar; click it and press Connect. Your browser opens your desk and hands this Mac the session you already have, with no password to type.

What it does

The timer, where your eyes already are

And the panel is the one you know from Chrome: the week, the day’s entries, play and stop.

The menu bar wears the clock

While something runs, the time sits beside your Mac’s own clock, so any app you are in is enough to see it.

A shortcut from anywhere

Option+Shift+T starts and stops the timer whichever app is in front. Turn it on in Settings.

Keep it open

Pin the panel and it stays in a small window above your work, instead of closing when you click away.

It notices when you were away

If your Mac sat idle or locked with the clock running, it asks whether to keep that time or stop the clock when you left.

Offline is normal

The clock keeps going without a connection. What you start and stop is sent when you are back.

It never invents a project

You start from work already on your desk. Projects, clients and invoices are made on the desk.

Step-by-step help: Install and use the Mac app. The same timer is in your Chrome toolbar.

Questions

The Mac app: what people ask

Is the Involets Mac app free?

Yes. It is part of Involets on both plans, and works with a free Personal account.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel. It is one download for both.

Do I need the Chrome extension as well?

No. Either one is enough, and they are the same timer: start it in the menu bar and stop it in Chrome, or the other way round.

Does it track team time?

Yes. If you are in a team, switch to its space under the panel’s head and the timer tracks against the team’s projects.

How do I remove it?

Quit it from its menu, then drag Involets from your Applications folder to the Bin. Your time is in your account, not on the Mac, so nothing is lost.
